The Board recognizes that self-destructive behavior, suicide and other traumatic loss of life can occur among children, adolescents, and adults in the school community. The Board directs the superintendent to develop procedures to be followed in the event of a suicide or other traumatic death that affects the school community, whether or not on school property or at a school-sponsored activity. The procedures shall address the unique needs of students and staff during the difficult circumstances surrounding such a death.
