Policy – Federal law requires the district to implement drug and alcohol testing for school vehicle drivers. Drivers are prohibited from alcohol use within four hours before driving and from controlled substance use while on duty. Required testing includes pre-employment, random, post-accident, and return-to-duty testing. Drivers testing positive are immediately removed from safety-sensitive functions and must complete evaluation and rehabilitation before reinstatement.
