Miami Yoder School District Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan

Will masks be required at school?

No. Masks for students, faculty, staff and are recommended by various health agencies, including El Paso County Public Health, and they can be provided on request, but they will not be required.

Are the Public Health Orders for schools still in effect?

No.  All previously issued Public Health Orders for schools have expired.

Will athletes be required to wear masks?

There are no current plans requiring athletes to wear masks while practicing or competing.

Will crowd sizes be limited for events?

There are no current plans to restrict crowd size for events.

Will quarantines still be required?

In certain cases, quarantines may be required.  Known positive COVID-19 cases will be necessary to quarantine in accordance with their doctor’s orders.

Will vaccination or proof of vaccination be required?

No.  Vaccination or proof thereof will not be required or requested.

What safety protocols will remain from last year?

Social distancing will remain a best practice.  Handwashing and hand sanitizer will be used throughout the day.  Disinfection of the facility and buses will continue as before.  As in years past, we are asking students, faculty and staff who are sick to stay home especially if the person is feverish, has a persistent cough, and/or has lost taste and smell.

The following are considered Best Practices when possible:

  • Handwashing
  • Social Distancing
  • Cohorting
  • Promoting touch-free surfaces
  • Enhanced cleaning
  • Using airflow and ventilation
  • Promoting emotional and mental wellbeing
